Isabel’s practice focuses on creating sculptural ceramic forms that reconnect people with their senses, particularly touch and sound. Her work consists of semi-functional, interactive pieces designed to be handled and experienced, with carefully considered surfaces and hollow forms that produce subtle echoing sounds. Drawing inspiration from the body; such as ears, noses, and other organic forms. Her work explores the relationship between object and viewer.
Through this interaction, Isabel encourages a heightened awareness of the present moment, fostering a sense of calm, embodiment, and connection. This sensory approach informs her teaching, where she supports students in exploring materiality, form, and personal expression through hands-on making and attentive engagement with clay.
