Who Will Guide the Camp?
Over the course of the week, your child will be supported by three experienced facilitators, each bringing their own unique skills in creativity, movement and storytelling. Together, they’ll help create a safe, playful environment where imagination can flourish.
Maria
Kelly
Storytelling Facilitator

Maria Kelly is a musician, writer and creative facilitator from the West of Ireland. As a Musician Educator with Music Generation DLR, Maria curates songwriting, storytelling, and live performance workshops in primary schools for children of all ages. Her classes focus on building confidence, exploring imagination, and connecting to every child’s own intuitive curiosities. A graduate with a BA (Hons) in Commercial Modern Music, Maria has gone on to host intimate living room tours, curate multidisciplinary exhibitions, and founded Tangent – a monthly creative writing community that sparks inspiration and fosters connection within Dublin’s artistic scene.
Catherine Geaney
Creative Facilitator
Cat is an illustrator, creative facilitator, and mama of one energetic toddler. Her teaching experience has given her the opportunity to work with children, teenagers, and adults across different cultures and creative settings. Cat spent two years teaching English to students ranging from young children to adults in Japan and 3 years teaching English to teenagers from all over Europe in Ireland. She also worked with secondary school students on a mural project focused on creativity and community engagement. Cat enjoys helping young people build confidence, express themselves, and develop new skills in supportive and inclusive learning environments.
Gráinne Finnegan
Yoga + Movement Facilitator

Gráinne brings together children’s yoga, mindfulness, functional movement, and mobility to create fun and nurturing spaces where children can explore emotional regulation through play, movement, and imagination. With years of experience as a children’s reiki practitioner and working in social services, she offers a compassionate, child-centred approach that supports emotional wellbeing, confidence, and resilience.

Developing imagination, confidence, and original ideas
Today’s children are constantly served up what to think and what to create. But imagination; the ability to dream something up from nothing, is one of the most powerful skills they can develop.
That’s exactly what the Segotia Summer Camp is designed to nurture.
Over one immersive, playful week, children (ages 7 – 9) can step away from passively consuming and into actively creating. They will be guided on a journey to create their own pieces of art or performance, to trust their ideas, and turn their imagination into something real.
The Summer Camp wraps up with a low-pressure showcase presented by the kids to you, their parents and guardians, to celebrate the work and discoveries they made over the course of the week. Performances, art exhibitions, show and tell, the children are free to create and show whatever their imaginations are drawn to.
The showcase takes place in our Gallery on the last day of the camp, Friday from 12pm – 1pm.
The world doesn’t need more of the same. It needs original thinkers, and that starts with fostering it in our kids.
What they’ll experience:
Activities For The Week:
1. Writing their Story
The children will dream up and develop their own original story, learning the foundations of great storytelling along the way.
2. Creating the World
They will design and make their own sculptures, costumes, props, and artworks based on their own story, bringing their ideas to life with their hands and creativity.
3. Movement + Expression
Through yoga, play, and movement, they’ll learn how to use their bodies to tell a story, express emotion and bring the characters in their story to life.
4. The Art
Guided by our creative facilitators they’ll transform their story into beautiful art, showcasing their connection to the story.
5. The Exhibition
At the end of the week, families are invited to a special exhibition event in The Segotia gallery, where the children can proudly exhibit what they’ve created.
